Ease and Faster Built

SIPS combine five (5) labor and material steps - framing, outside and inside sheathing, insulation, and vapor barrier - in one easy-to-install product.  Each panel also comes with a pre-cut vertical electrical chase.

ACSI-SIPS structures can be built 30%+ faster than a conventional home, addition, or commercial building. Entire houses can be erected in fewer days, which translates into labor savings, construction initial costs, and an earlier move-in date for the home buyer.

Lightweight product, panels can be installed without the use of cranes or other heavy  equipment.

The framing crew is more productive, the project is dried in from the weather faster, and other craft contractors such as electrical, H-VAC, siding, and roofing specialists get a head start.

We will provide the appropriate take-offs for needed perimeter, interior, and roof panels based upon your architectural plan.  Our engineers can also provide the proper floor and roof structural designs as demanded by local building officials.

Electrical wiring in the perimeter ACSI-SIPS wall is installed through a pre‑cut chase for the receptacles, wall switches, outside lights, and second and more stories’ electrical needs. The panels meet the National Electrical Code NFPA 70, .  They also comply with all ICBO and BOCA codes.

Each panel is "Q"uality tested for accuracy, bonding, and alignment. "0" tolerance for defects reduces construction time, labor cost, and frustration.

Once the panels OSB (Oriented Strand Board), SPS (Structural Polystyrene), and Fiberbond or other configurations are assembled, they are pressed to provide 100% adhesion.

The foundation and floor decks can be built using engineered "I" beams and "bandboards". Such beams are lighter, stronger, and resist warpage over dimensional lumber.

Foundations can be engineered as non-vented crawl space.  In such crawl space the insulation is on the perimeter with a 6 mil. plastic vapor barrier completely covering the ground and the bottom portion of the perimeter wall.  This eliminates damaging moisture from the home, which is estimated by Virginia Power to be up to 12 gallons of water per day.

3.jpg (36007 bytes) Slabs are also popular as foundations for homes and can easily accommodate our panelized construction systems.  Such slabs should be properly sealed and insulated.

The special polymer adhesives require 24 hours to achieve a monolithic bond between the inside and outside substrates and the solid core insulation.

sips5.jpg (242039 bytes)

"Tongue and groove" OSB underlayment is applied with adhesives and metal fasteners making sure no energy is lost or moisture intrudes through a separation.

The erection of the perimeter walls is completed with standard construction tools.  On-site training can teach any craftsmen and apprentices how to install ACSI-SIPS walls and roofs.

sips8.jpg (243324 bytes)

The combined "I" beams, flooring, and bandboards will eliminate any bounce... and squeak in the floor.  Floor plates are now installed to accept the ASC-SIPS wall panels.

Lightweight product, panels can be installed without the use of cranes or other heavy  equipment.

sips11.jpg (213140 bytes)

Each panel contains a vertical electrical chase every 4 feet.  Needed information for the electrical contractor is marked on the subfloor further saving time, labor, and mistakes.

Each wall is joint by the ENERFOAM insulation adhesive and fastened by staples, nails, or screws, producing walls 3 times  (3x) stronger than conventional built homes with no heating or cooling loss.

constr1.jpg (414224 bytes) This completed section took only one day! At  this time one can see the complete envelope being created.  Window and door openings are made after the roof is installed.
constr35.jpg (26077 bytes)

When the perimeter walls are completed the second floor will be installed.  The extra strength allows wider spans and fewer supporting interior walls.

sips17.jpg (283098 bytes) All interior framing is made easier, faster, and less costly with fewer supporting walls.  More open area and uninterrupted longer spans are possible.
constr36.jpg (18238 bytes)

With completion of the second deck, walls are installed using the same process as the first floor.  Inherent wall and beam strength allows longer spans.

sips18.jpg (197990 bytes)

The ridge beam is set to receive the roof rafters.  The OSB "double-sided" roof panels with four feet on-center "I" beams configuration allow for natural cathedral and vaulted ceilings or roofs.

sips20.jpg (34967 bytes)

The combination of ACSI-SIPS roof panels and "I" beams allows for 48" O.C. for the roof structure thus reducing framing materials by two thirds (2/3rds) over conventional framing materials.

4.jpg (86620 bytes)

Panelized roof systems allow for an additional semi-finished second story for "ranchers" or semi-finished third story for a conventional two-story home.  The roof system eliminates:  ridge and soffit vents, extreme heat and freezing temperature fluctuations inside the cavity, and the typical 70% heat loss and gain through the roof.

5.jpg (45404 bytes)

Such a completely sealed envelope protects all of the home's mechanical systems.  There is less wear and tear on the H-VAC system and protects water and waste water lines from freezing.

7.jpg (38940 bytes)

The only special tool required is a "Hot Knife".  The insulation is shaped for nailers around the  window and door cut-outs.

constr2.jpg (42796 bytes)

Insulated blocking between floors completes the total system, which will reduce energy cost by 50%+ over conventional construction methods.

8.jpg (34090 bytes)
9.jpg (27221 bytes)

The FiberbondSM on the perimeter walls gives a smooth plaster-like finish.  Such walls are 100% nailable so you can hang picture frames, shelves, and large mirrors on any surface.

"The Virginian" American townhomes look the same as any other fine home.  ASCI panelized systems make a quiet, draft-free, energy efficient home at a cost competitive price.
